COMING CLEAN. A now-US citizen (who was born here in the Philippines) recalled one blooper he made when in the US. After going to a restaurant and placing his order, he was later surprised when the waiter gave him a scented bar for washing hands.

 

After repeatedly stating what he wanted the waiter corrected himself: “Oh, I’m sorry, sir. You asked for ‘soup,’ not ‘soap.’”

The man said he never mispronounced that word again.
