Improvised taxi fare receipt

TAXI RECEIPT. The Ear received the following letter from a reader who identified himself as a seminarian: “Taxi drivers are required to issue receipts to their passengers but no one ever does. Or is there one? There is one. His meter does not automatically issue fare receipts. But when I paid him, he took the trouble of writing down the fare on a piece of paper and handed it to me with his signature.”

ROUGH FORM. The receipt was in rough form prepared, he said, by his children using not a computer but a manual typewriter. “You might need this to seek refund for the fare you paid me,” the driver said, adding: “Naa man guy mga pasahero nga gisugo lang sa ilang gitrabahuan apan wa’y pamasaheng gihatag.” The seminarian said in his postscript: “Join me in saluting this cabbie.”
