CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines — A suspected robber was killed in an alleged shootout with a police officer in Mexico town in this province on Friday.

Reports said the suspect barged into the house of Pat. Ray Lemuel Zabat in Barangay Malino at around 3 a.m.

Zabat’s father saw the suspect and woke up his son, according to Col. Jay Dimaandal, Pampanga police director.

The robber reportedly took two phones and was about to leave whe he was accosted by the policeman.

Instead of surrendering, the suspect allegedly drew a gun, triggering a shootout.

The suspect was declared dead on arrival at a hospital due to a gunshot to the abdomen.
