MANILA, Philippines — Motorists will be fined P5,000 for driving without a license plate, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) said.
Some vehicle owners are refusing to comply with regulations, LTO chief Vigor Mendoza II noted.
License plates are not souvenirs, he said.
Mendoza noted license plate distribution issues since 2014, giving assurance that the backlog for four-wheel vehicles has been resolved.
License plate distribution for motorcycles is expected to be completed by July.
