Fishing boat capsizes off Quezon; 11 rescued

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — Eleven passengers, including a two-month-old boy, were rescued when a motorized fishing boat capsized in the waters off Panukulan, Quezon on Friday.

The passengers were brought to a hospital and discharged after treatment.

The boat, which departed from Barangay Bonifacio in Burdeos, was on its way to Infanta when it was hit by big waves and strong winds, which caused it to overturn.

The crewmembers of two fishing boats in the area rescued the passengers of the capsized boat and brought them to Panukulan Port.

The boat was reportedly overloaded.
