American wanted for sex crimes nabbed in Zambales
MANILA, Philippines — After 16 years in hiding, a 60-year-old American who is wanted for sex crimes in his country was arrested by Bureau of Immigration (BI) agents in Zambales on Monday.
Eduardo Minas has been on the wanted list of the Federal Bureau of Investigation since November 2006 when a court in Las Vegas issued an arrest warrant for two counts of sexual assault and two counts of statutory sexual seduction.
“He will be deported for overstaying and being an undesirable and undocumented alien. He no longer holds a valid passport since it expired in January 2013 and was not renewed,” Tansingco said.
Meanwhile, BI agents apprehended Chinese national Zheng Zongyi, 30, in Makati City last week for overstaying and illegally working in the country.
Minas and Zheng are detained at the BI holding facility at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City while awaiting their deportation.
