MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude-5 earthquake shook the town of Baganga in Davao Oriental and nearby provinces early yesterday morning.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the quake was felt at Intensity 3 in Baganga and Intensity 2 in Caraga, Davao Oriental and Nabunturan in Davao de Oro.
Intensity 1 was recorded in Don Marcelino, Davao Occidental; Manay, Davao Oriental, and Malapatan and Alabel in Sarangani as well as in Davao City, General Santos City and South Cotabato.
The quake was not expected to cause damage, but it may generate aftershocks, Phivolcs said.
