Rainy across Philippines due to LPA
MANILA, Philippines — The trough of a low-pressure area spotted outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) is bringing rains over parts of the country, according to the state weather bureau.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the weather system was located 1,430 kilometers east of Central Luzon yesterday.
PAGASA said the low-pressure area has a low chance of developing into a tropical cyclone, but may enter the PAR in the next 24 hours.
Scattered rains and thunderstorms can be expected over the Visayas, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga peninsula, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, Mindoro and Palawan.
Meanwhile, generally fair weather with isolated rains due to localized thunderstorms may be experienced over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
PAGASA warned the public of flash floods and landslides during heavy rain.
Temperatures in Metro Manila will range between 25 to 32 degrees Celsius today.
