4 caught with P4.1 million marijuana

MANILA, Philippines — Two of the most wanted drug traffickers in Metro Manila and their two cohorts were arrested during a sting in Quezon City that yielded around 3.16 kilos of marijuana worth P4.1 million on Wednesday night.

Mihngold Guina, 23; Daryl Louie Borgonia, 31; Fernando Mendoza, 25, and Miriam Doctor, 23, were collared in an entrapment operation in Barangay Greater Fairview.

Quezon City Police District director Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III said Guina and Borgonia are on the drug list.

The sting occurred along Valiant street at around 7:40 p.m., according to Fairview police station 5 chief Lt. Col. Elizabeth Jasmin.

The suspects allegedly closed a deal with a police officer who worked undercover for 25,000 worth of marijuana.

Lawmen placed the suspects under arrest after they received the marked money.

Police said they recovered two cell phones and P10,000 in cash in the suspects’ car.

The suspects are being held on charges of drug trafficking.
