3 rob suspects fall in Taguig

MANILA, Philippines — Three suspected members of a robbery group operating in Metro Manila were arrested in Taguig City on Wednesday.

Mark Brylle Garcia, 19; Arlyn de Leon, 25, and a 16-year-old boy were apprehended in Barangay Calzada-Tipas at around 11:50 p.m., Southern Police District (SPD) director Col. Kirby John Kraft said.

The trio were initially apprehended for not wearing helmets while on a motorcycle, which police later found was stolen.

Apart from the motorcycle, the suspects were also caught with a 9mm pistol, a hand grenade, 5.97 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu valued at P40,596 and 1.90 grams of marijuana with a street value of P418.

Garcia and De Leon are being held on charges of motorcycle theft, illegal possession of a firearm, carrying an explosive and violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

The minor was endorsed to city social welfare and development officers. – Ralph Edwin Villanueva
