MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Railways (PNR) suspended some of its trips yesterday morning in the aftermath of two earthquakes that hit Quezon province on Wednesday night.
In an advisory at 5:45 a.m. yesterday, the state-owned rail line said it suspended trips to Malabon, Caloocan, Manila, Makati, Pasay, Taguig and Muntinlupa as well as Laguna and Quezon.
There were no trips between Tutuban to Alabang, Tutuban and Gov. Pascual, Gov. Pascual and Bicutan as well as between Lucena and San Pablo.
The PNR restored trips between Tutuban and Alabang at 7:46 a.m., Tutuban to Gov. Pascual at 7:51 a.m., Gov. Pascul to Bicutan at 8:22 a.m. and Alabang to Tutuban at 9:12 a.m.
Trips between Lucena and San Pablo were scheduled yesterday afternoon.
Two earthquakes, both with magnitudes of 4.4, hit Real town at past 10 p.m. on Wednesday.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the quakes were felt at Intensity 4 or moderately strong in Real.
The quakes were felt at Intensity 3 in Lucban and Infanta in Quezon and Manila, Intensity 2 in General Nakar town and Intensity 1 in Quezon City.
Phivolcs said Instrumental Intensity 3 was felt in Polillo and Infanta, Intensity 2 in Dolores and Intensity 1 in Tagaytay, Los Baños in Laguna and Angono, Morong, Cainta and Tanay in Rizal.
