Japanese man wounded in Cavite shooting
CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — A Japanese director of an electronics company was wounded in a gun attack in General Trias, Cavite on Thursday.
Osamo Yamada, 52, of R-TECH Philippines Inc. and a resident of Imus City, was taken to the Divine Grace Hospital for treatment.
Citing a police report, Cavite police director Col. Christopher Olazo said Yamada was standing beside his car in the parking lot of a restaurant in Barangay Bacao 1 when unidentified motorcycle riders approached and opened fire.
Olazo said the motive for the shooting may be work-related.
Brig. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., Calabarzon police director, ordered dragnet operations to identify and arrest the suspects. – Ed Amoroso
