8 dead in Quezon, Misamis road mishaps
MANILA, Philippines — Eight persons died in road accidents in Quezon and Misamis Oriental in the past two days.
Teodoro Balitaan; Justina Balitaan, 60; Princess Lara Lopez, 5, and Maryrose Ravano, 30, died when their tricycles collided with an Isuzu Elf truck in Pagbilao yesterday, acting town police chief Maj. Lawrence Panganiban said.
Four other persons were injured.
Lt. Lovelyn Lalunio, Quezon police spokesperson, said the accident occurred when the truck and a tricycle collided along a sharp curve of the Maharlika Highway in Barangay Irikin.
The tricycle hit another tricycle due to the impact of the crash.
In Misamis Oriental, four persons died when a van collided with a trailer truck along the highway in Balingasag, Misamis Oriental on Tuesday.
A police report identified the fatalities as Bertley Jerome Esperat, 30, driver of a Starex van; Lucille Cardinales, 53; Estela Dalangin, 57, and Erika Manangkin, 28.
Meriam Esperat, 51, a passenger of the van and the driver of the truck, Roy Decio, 39, and his companion Emiliano Pamocino, 35, were injured.
