3 hurt as truck crashes into junk shop  

MANILA, Philippines — Three persons were injured after a dump truck plowed through a junk shop in Quezon City early yesterday morning.

Police said truck driver Carlo Tinio was traversing San Mateo Road and heading toward Barangay Batasan Hills in Quezon City when the accident occurred.

According to witnesses, the truck suddenly crashed into a junk shop and a house.

Tinio and his two helpers, Agnes Salonga and another known only as Jennie, were injured as a result of the impact.

They were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The accident caused traffic jams in the area, authorities said.
