Valenzuela teachers receive laptops

Ghio Ong - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Public school teachers in Valenzuela have received computer laptops from the city government.

Mayor Wes Gatchalian recently led the distribution of 1,200 laptops to select teachers in public elementary and high schools.

The laptops are equipped with the “VC Guro Ako” app, a computer application developed by the city government that teachers can use in keeping school records even if they are outside the classroom.

The app is loaded with tools such as grade encoder, announcements, events calendar, lesson plans, class records and reports generation, among others.

Launched last April, the “VC Guro Ako” app aims to help teachers ease their workload amid the challenges brought by distance learning due the COVID-19 pandemic.

The city government will distribute 4,000 more laptops to public school teachers, Gatchalian said.
