Gun-for-hire with links to Dawlah Islamiya held
LANAO DEL SUR, Philippines — A suspected gun-for-hire with links to the Dawlah Islamiya was arrested in Saguiran town in this province before dawn yesterday.
Kimal Sumayan, 47, did not resist arrest when operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group and Lanao del Sur police served a warrant for homicide at his hideout in Barangay Linao.
Col. Jibin Bongcayao, Lanao del Sur police director, said Sumayan yielded a .38-caliber revolver.
In Marawi, Muhammad Maunga Pansar, 29, who is wanted for a string of carjacking incidents, was arrested in Barangay Marawi Poblacion.
Bongcayao said Pansar ranked fourth on the list of most wanted persons in the city.
