Biker falls to death in tunnel

MANILA, Philippines — A motorcycle rider fell to his death in the Quezon Avenue tunnel in Quezon City yesterday.

Security guard Gerald Mangrobang, 45, was driving along the eastbound lane of Quezon Avenue in Barangay Pinyahan when the accident occurred at around 3 a.m.

Investigators from the Quezon City Police District’s Traffic Sector 6 said Mangrobang hit the center island at the intersection of EDSA and Quezon Avenue. Due to the force of the impact, the victim fell into the tunnel.

Mangrobang died at the scene. Probers said the victim, a resident of Marikina, was headed in the direction of the Quezon Memorial Circle.
