COVID-19 cases in Makati up by 53%
MANILA, Philippines — Active COVID cases in Makati have increased by at least 53 percent in the past week, according to a report of the city government released on Friday.
There are 66 active cases in Makati, which is higher compared to 43 cases on the same day last week, an increase of 53.48 percent.
Despite the spike in cases, there are no new deaths in Makati as a result of COVID-19 infection.
The city government is monitoring 35 other people categorized as probable and suspected COVID-19 cases.
Twelve of the cases are from Barangay Poblacion followed by 11 in San Lorenzo.
The other barangays with active cases are Bel-Air with nine; Dasmariñas, five; San Antonio and Comembo, four each; Magallanes, three; Tejeros, Valenzuela, Guadalupe Nuevo and Guadalupe Viejo, two each; and Bangkal, Carmona, La Paz, Olympia, Pio del Pilar, Urdaneta, Cembo, Pembo, Pitogo and Rizal, one each.
Twelve other barangays have no COVID-19 cases.
