Man caught with P6.8 million shabu

MANILA, Philippines — Anti-narcotics agents confiscated at least one kilo of shabu worth P6.8 million in Quezon City yesterday.

Kanda Usman, 35, was arrested during a sting in Barangay Old Balara at around 10:30 a.m., according to Drug Enforcement Group director Brig. Gen. Randy Peralta.

Peralta said Usman allegedly negotiated a drug deal with a police officer.

The suspect was collared after he accepted P13,000 in marked money from the policeman who posed as a buyer.

Usman also yielded three cell phones and assorted drug paraphernalia, police said.

In Caloocan, three persons were arrested by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency during a raid on Tuesday.

Joseph de la Cruz, Marlon de la Cruz and Joan Pacardo are being held on drug charges.

Police said they seized from the suspects 15 grams of shabu amounting to P102,000.

In Taguig, at least P300,000 worth of shabu was recovered from a drug suspect on Tuesday.

Ali Bandila, 34, was nabbed during a sting in Barangay New Lower Bicutan.

Southern Police District director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg said Bandila yielded some 49 grams of shabu.
