Ifugao BIR officer found dead

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — A district officer of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) in Ifugao was found dead with a gunshot wound at his office in Lagawe town.

The victim was identified as Arlan Davis, 45, a resident of Alapang in La Trinidad, Benguet.

Fernando Bahatan of BIR-Lagawe sought police assistance after the body of Davis was discovered at about 1:30 p.m.

The Cordillera police said it coordinated with the provincial forensic unit in Lamut town for a thorough probe.

In Abra, Fidel Lalugan, treasurer of Barangay Lan-ag in Lacub town, was killed in a gun attack in Barangay Tagodtod in Lagangilang.

Lalugan was in a tricycle on his way to the provincial capitol when he was shot. The tricycle driver was wounded.
