Emmanuel Tupas - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Philippine National Police is down to 13 after three PNP personnel recovered from the disease.

The active infections dropped to 99.59 percent compared to its peak of 3,216 on Sept. 17.

The PNP recorded zero new cases in the past week. Only one case was recorded on Dec. 22.

No new fatality was recorded, which means the death toll remains at 125.

PNP deputy chief Lt. Gen. Joselito Vera Cruz said the active cases are either asymptomatic or have mild symptoms.

“Walang hospital admission,” he said in a text message.

The PNP has logged 42,246 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic started last year. At least 42,108 or 99.67 percent have recovered.

Up to 214,587 police personnel have been fully vaccinated while 9,622 are waiting for their second dose.

The PNP said 1,901 of their members remain unvaccinated.
