Cop gunned down in Rizal

MANILA, Philippines — A policeman was shot dead in Rodriguez, Rizal on Tuesday.

Pat. Mohamadal Sulalman of the Quezon City police was walking on his way home after buying pan de sal when an unidentified man shot him in the head in Barangay San Jose at about 5:50 a.m., National Capital Region Police Office chief Maj. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr. said.

Witnesses said the gunman fled on foot.

Danao vowed to run after Sulalman’s assailant.

“We deeply condemn this blatant killing of a man in uniform,” he said. “We guarantee his family that we will exert all necessary effort to ensure that this case is resolved at the soonest possible time.”
