MANILA, Philippines — Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Dionardo Carlos has ordered an investigation into the bombing of a transmission tower of the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) in Lanao del Sur on Thursday.

Carlos directed the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region police to unmask the persons behind the attack.

“The investigation will establish what really transpired. We are also coordinating with NGCP and other possible witnesses of the bombing incident,” he said. “The PNP will exert all effort to identify and arrest those responsible.”

The NGCP said the repair of Tower No. 65 of the Agus 2-Kibawe 138-kiloVolt line in Maguing town would start as soon as the area is secured.

The transmission line segment has been unenergized since September due to sabotage of its insulators.
