Zero COVID-19 cases in Binalonan, 23 Bacolod villages

MANILA, Philippines — Binalonan town in Pangasinan has recorded no new COVID-19 cases in the past week.

Thre were only three active cases in the town yesterday, the municipal government announced on Facebook.

Mayor Ramon Guico Jr. thanked his townmates for observing minimum health protocols.

Pangasinan recorded 31 new infections on Wednesday, bringing the total active cases in the province to 355.

In Bacolod, 23 of the 61 barangays logged zero COVID cases from Oct. 28 to Nov. 10.

In a report to Mayor Evelio Leonardia and Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran, Emergency Operations Center-Task Force (EOC-TF) executive director Em Legaspi-Ang said Barangay Punta Taytay recorded one active case during the same period.

“We hope and pray that this trend continues. The hard work and dedication of our medical frontliners – our doctors, nurses, vaccinator-volunteers and barangay health workers are paying off,” Leonardia said.

The EOC-TF said minors are still not allowed in malls and other establishments as Bacolod remains under Alert Level 4.

In Nueva Ecija, a seven-year-old boy is the lone person who tested positive for COVID-19 in Cabanatuan City on Wednesday.

The number of active infections in the city dropped to 42 on the same day from 49 on Tuesday. – Gilbert Bayoran, Ric Sapnu
