MANILA, Philippines — An alleged New People’s Army guerrilla was killed while an Army soldier was wounded in an encounter in Trinidad, Bohol over the weekend.

Joel Soria, alias Joyjoy, died at the scene of the encounter, while the wounded soldier was taken to a hospital for treatment, according to 1/Lt. Elma Grace Abulencia, civil-military relations officer of the Army’s 47th Infantry Battalion.
