POGO worker rescued from kidnappers

MANILA, Philippines — A 20-year-old Chinese employed by a Philippine offshore gaming operator (POGO) was rescued in Parañaque on Friday night from his alleged kidnappers two Chinese and four Filipinos.

Police officers found Li Le Le tied to a double-decker bed at a condominium unit in Barangay Don Galo, according to a spot report from the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).

Li was rescued after two of his friend reported him missing for two days.

Police arrested Chen Shiduan, 47, and Chen Lianxing, 37, and their alleged accomplices Joseph Cardona, Benedicto Manicad, Raphael Milanag and Nida Bagtas. 

Investigators have yet to state why Li was kidnapped.

The suspects are being held at the city police’s Substation 3 while they are under investigation.

NCRPO chief Maj. Gen. Vicente Danao lauded the city police for the fast resolution of the crime.
