House to start vaccination on May 10

MANILA, Philippines — The House of Representatives will start its COVID-19 vaccine rollout for employees next month as the government has yet to complete the inoculation of priority sectors.

In a memorandum signed by House secretary general Mark Llandro Mendoza, employees belonging to the first four groups in the priority list will be inoculated with Sinovac vaccine beginning May 10.

Health workers in Congress will be the first to receive the jabs followed by senior citizens, persons with comorbidities and frontline personnel in essential sectors.

The vaccines will come from the Quezon City government as the House’s order for Novavax vaccines have yet to arrive, according to insiders.

The Novavax doses will be used for the remaining House personnel and their dependents as well as reporters covering the chamber.
