MANILA, Philippines — A busted water pipe along EDSA Pioneer in Mandaluyong yesterday caused flooding and slowed down the flow of vehicles in the area.
The burst pipe also caused water service interruptions in more than 30 barangays in Mandaluyong, Pasig, San Juan and Quezon City, according to Manila Water.
The water pipe was busted by a contractor of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Sunday night.
Motorists slowed down as they approached a flooded portion of EDSA along Boni Serrano Avenue.
The traffic buildup reached Kalayaan Avenue in Makati and Barangay Tramo in Pasay City, the MMDA reported.
MMDA spokesperson Celine Pialago said contractors of the agency are fixing the broken pipe.
