Quakes hit Davao provinces
MANILA, Philippines — Earthquakes of magnitudes 5.7 and 3.4 rocked the provinces of Davao Oriental and Davao Occidental, respectively, yesterday morning.
State seismologists said the magnitude-5.7 quake occurred at 8 a.m., and was centered 211 kilometers southeast of Governor Genoroso town.
Instrumental Intensity 2 was felt in General Santos City as well as in Alabel and Kiamba, both in Sarangani.
Intensity 1 was felt in Koronadal, South Cotabato.
The second quake occurred at around 9:30 a.m. and was centered 25 km northeast of Sarangani town in Davao Occidental.
Instrumental Intensity 1 was felt in General Santos City and Alabel in Sarangani province.
On Sunday, a magnitude-6.1 temblor jolted parts of Mindanao, injuring at least three persons.
