MANILA, Philippines — The Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) yesterday filed cases before the Department of Justice (DOJ) over the Dengvaxia vaccine that allegedly resulted in the deaths of 99 people.
Among the respondents are Department of Health Secretary Francisco Duque III and former DOH chief and now Iloilo Rep. Janette Garin.
Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said it’s still too early to tell if the complaint filed against Duque would be dismissed.
“If the DOJ finds the new complaint sufficient in form and substance, it will conduct a preliminary investigation and issue subpoenas to the respondents,” Guevarra said.
