PNP posts 16 new COVID-19 cases

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported 16 new coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19 infections among its personnel.

The new cases brought the total number of confirmed cases to 7,626 as of Saturday.

Records showed a majority of the fresh cases came from the regional police offices such as the Cordilleras with eight as well as Bicol and Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) with  two each.

The rest of the cases were recorded in Central Luzon and Zamboanga peninsula with one each, and the national operational support unit with two.

Total recoveries rose to 7,206 after 43 more personnel survived the disease. Total fatalities remain at 43.
