4 drug suspects slain

MANILA, Philippines — Four drug suspects have been killed in anti-narcotics operations in Bulacan and Negros Occidental.

Col. Lawrence Cajipe, Bulacan police director, said Orlando Macaraig and his unidentified cohort drew their guns when they sensed they had transacted with undercover agents along NIA Road in Barangay Malamig, Bustos on Thursday.

Two other suspects managed to escape.

Cajipe said 40 grams of shabu worth P252,000, two .38-caliber revolvers and P25,000 in cash were recovered from the fatalities.

In Silay City, Owniel Rojo, 29, was killed in an alleged shootout with police officers in Sitio Cabay Bodega, Barangay 5, also on Thursday.

The body of Nilo Fuentes, 54, which was wrapped in two sacks and hogtied, was found along the highway in Barangay Tabigue, EB Magalona town yesterday.

A piece of cardboard that read “drug pusher ako huwag tularan” was recovered near his body.

The victim was reportedly seized by unidentified men in Bacolod City on Thursday night.

Meanwhile, a kilo of shabu valued at P6.8 million was recovered from Joemar Isidor, 34, who was arrested in Barangay San Roque, Antipolo City, Rizal. - Emmanuel Tupas, Gilbert Bayoran
