MMDA COVID-19 cases reach 62

MANILA, Philippines — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority has recorded 62 cases of coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19 among its personnel since March, MMDA spokesperson Celine Pialago reported yesterday.

Of the number, 20 are active cases. One MMDA employee succumbed to the disease, Pialago said.

She said at least 80 percent of the infected MMDA personnel were asymptomatic.

They were isolated at the MMDA’s quarantine facility, according to Pialago.

The MMDA headquarters in Makati was shut down for sanitation from July 9 to 12 after nine personnel tested positive for COVID-19.
