Spaniard, 2 others held for P3.4 million drugs

MANILA, Philippines — A Spanish citizen and his companions were arrested after they were caught with P3.4 million worth of shabu in Las Piñas City on Friday.

Javier Galent was arrested together with Filipinos Juan Carlos Martinez and Michael John Uy during a sting in Barangay Talon Dos at around 2:30 p.m., said Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) spokesman Derrick Carreon.

Lawmen confiscated around 500 grams of shabu valued at P3.4 million from the suspects as well as a mobile phone, a black Nissan Cefiro and a white BMW sedan from the scene of the drug bust.

In Pasig City, around 70 grams of shabu worth P476,000 were seized from Rex Piloto, who identified himself as a member of Barangay Caniogan’s task force against illegal vendors at around 7 p.m.

The Eastern Police District said Piloto is among its high-value targets in the illegal drug trade.

In Caloocan, 36.5 grams of shabu with a street value of P248,000 and a .38 caliber revolver were confiscated from Randy Luisa Dizon, 33; Rico Nape, 37; and Frances Cruz, 34, in a sting in Barangay 28 at around 8 a.m. yesterday.

Ramil Gayondato, 39, was arrested in a sting in Lakeview in Putatan, Muntinlupa at around 9:15 a.m. yesterday.

Around 21 grams of shabu valued at P142,800 were seized from the suspects. ­

Meanwhile, around 55 grams of shabu valued at P374,000 were seized from suspects in separate stings in Quezon City on Friday.

In Barangay Culiat, 25 grams of shabu worth P170,000 were confiscated from Alnezeer Majindi, 23; Arnel Garindo, 28; Eavin Yabes, 31; and Joel Orque, 47, who are included in the barangay’s drug watchlist.

Royce Reyes, 46, and Eric Ramos, 45, were caught with 15 grams of shabu valued at P102,000 in Barangay Sauyo.

Around 15 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P102,000 were seized from Aldasir Lajid, 22, and Alvin Bardinas, 30, in Barangay North Fairview. Ralph Edwin Villanueva
