MISAMIS, Philippines — Four police officers were wounded in an attack by New People’s Army (NPA) rebels in Concepcion, Misamis Occidental on Thursday.
S/Sgt. Larry Milan, Pat. Ritchel Tanola, and Cpls. Marvin Inton and Leo Gumisad were manning a checkpoint in Barangay Putongan when they were attacked around 7:50 a.m, Brig. Gen. Bernard Banac, Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesman, said.
Police said an NPA rebel was killed in the firefight.
