BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — Class suspension in this city has been extended until the end of May.

Mayor Benjamin Magalong issued Executive Order (EO) 78, extending the class suspension in private and public schools as part of the measures to protect residents from coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

The extension was agreed upon following a meeting with various stakeholders including private and government agencies, Magalong said.

School administrators were advised to coordinate with the Department of Education, Commission on Higher Education and TESDA (Technical Educational Skills Development Authority) for additional instructions regarding the guidelines for the culmination of the school year and other related issues,.

The EO prohibits holding of culmination or graduation ceremonies in schools or in any other places.
