P8.8 million ecstasy, cannabis seized in Pasay

Operatives found 5,207 ecstasy tablets valued at P8.85 million as well as 98 canisters of liquid cannabis and eight plastic bottles containing 1,440 soft gel capsules of cannabis.

MANILA, Philippines — Anti-narcotics operatives confiscated at least P8.8 million worth of illegal drugs in a cargo warehouse in Pasay City, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said yesterday.

PDEA chief Aaron Aquino said operatives from the agency’s National Capital Region Airport Interdiction Unit and the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Group seized three parcels after drug-sniffing dogs detected the presence of “dangerous drugs.”

Operatives found 5,207 ecstasy tablets valued at P8.85 million as well as 98 canisters of liquid cannabis and eight plastic bottles containing 1,440 soft gel capsules of cannabis.

PDEA said it is still checking the value of the liquid cannabis and capsules.

One parcel containing cannabis was shipped by True Terpenes Kevin from Hayden Island Drive in Portland, Oregon and consigned to a certain Benjamin Cassiday. 

The second batch of suspected cannabis was shipped by Piping Rock from Ronkonkoma, New York and consigned to a certain Ricardo Jocson. 

The ecstasy tablets were shipped from the United Kingdom and consigned to a certain Martin Lim.
