2 women die as truck hits motorbike

MANILA, Philippines — Two women were killed when a trailer truck collided with a motorcycle in Tondo, Manila before dawn yesterday.

Ana Virginia dela Cruz, 27, and Ilora Joyce Suñer, 25, were riding a Yamaha Mio along the northbound lane of Jose Abad Santos Boulevard when a 14-wheeler truck driven by Roilan Ruado, 41, hit the motorcycle’s rear end at the corner of Quiricada street at around 1 a.m.

The women died at the scene.

Ruado was arrested and charged with reckless imprudence resulting in multiple homicide before the Manila prosecutor’s office.
