LAGUNA, Philippines — A police officer was shot dead in Calamba City on Sunday night.
Lt. Ramil Gonzales was driving his motorcycle on his way to a police camp when he was shot in Barangay Mayapa at around 8:25 p.m., according to Lt. Col. Chitadel Gaoiran, Calabarzon police spokesperson.
Gonzales died while being treated at the Global Care Hospital.
Col. Eleazar Matta, Laguna police director, ordered a manhunt for the assailant.
