MMDA holds stop-and-go dry run for SEA Games
MANILA, Philippines — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will hold a dry run today of the stop-and-go traffic scheme to be enforced along major roads in the metropolis during the conduct of the 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games.
In an advisory issued yesterday, the MMDA said the dry run would be implemented along EDSA, Quezon Avenue, Roxas Boulevard, España Boulevard, Gil Puyat Avenue, Macapagal Boulevard and North Luzon Expressway from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The stop-and-go scheme aims to facilitate the fast movement of delegates and give way to the convoys of vehicles to and from the venues where the sporting events will be held, the MMDA said.
The opening ceremony for the SEA Games will be held at the Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan on Nov. 30.
The convoys of the delegates would use the yellow lane along EDSA, according to the MMDA.
