LPA to bring rains over Philippines

MANILA,Philippines — A low-pressure area spotted off Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur will continue to bring rains over most parts of the country today.

Cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms would prevail over Bicol Region, Mimaropa, (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan), Mindanao and the Visayas as well as in Quezon province, state weather forecasters said yesterday.

Metro Manila will have rains this afternoon or tonight due to the outer rain band of the low -pressure area, weather specialist Benison Estareja said.

As of 3 p.m. yesterday, the low-pressure area was spotted at 85 kilometers east southeast of Hinatuan.

It has a slim chance of developing into a tropical cyclone.
