19 Pinoys hurt in Italy road mishap – DFA

MANILA, Philippines – Nineteen Filipinos were injured in a road accident involving a public utility vehicle in Rome, Italy, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported yesterday.

The DFA said the accident happened in Via Cassia, north of Rome on Oct. 16.

Chargé d’Affaires Candy Cypres-Bauzon said the Philippine embassy in Rome was able to identify and obtain the contact details of the Filipinos.

Three of the victims suffered wounds in the forehead while two had fractures in their shoulder and leg, the DFA said.

“According to doctors who evaluated the victims, no one was critically injured,” the agency said.

The DFA said it is closely monitoring the condition of the Filipinos and is ready to provide them the necessary assistance.
