Weekend road repairs set

MANILA, Philippines — Certain segments of EDSA and other roads will be closed to give way to repairs by the Department of Public Works and Highways this weekend, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced yesterday.

In a traffic advisory, the MMDA said the following roads will be closed starting last night until Oct. 14.

Southbound: EDSA Panorama building to Bansalangin street (first lane from sidewalk); EDSA after Mother Ignacia (second lane from sidewalk); EDSA fronting BRIO Tower (third, fourth and outer lane); EDSA front of Camp Crame gate (first lane from sidewalk); EDSA Annapolis street going to V.V Soliven (second lane from sidewalk); and G. Araneta from T. Arguelles to Bayanin (first lane from sidewalk).

Eastbound: Quirino Highway before Belfast Road (outer lane); General Luis street Rebisco Road to SB Road; Elliptical Road after Maharlika (sixth lane from outer sidewalk).

Northbound: A. Bonifacio Avenue Sgt. Rivera to J. Pineda (second lane from sidewalk); Katipunan avenue/C-5 after C.P Garcia street (truck lane); EDSA Quezon City after Aurora Boulevard to New York street (third lane from sidewalk).

Westbound: Novaliches General Luis street-Samote street to SB Road.

The roads will be passable by 5 a.m. on Monday, the MMDA said, as it advised motorists to use alternate routes.
