Pregnant woman nabbed in drug sting
MANILA, Philippines — A pregnant woman was apprehended for alleged possession of P30,000 worth of shabu during a sting in Quezon City on Tuesday night.
Mira Bastiner, 44, who is seven months pregnant, was allegedly selling narcotics in violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
Col. Ronnie Montejo, acting director of the Quezon City Police District, said Bastiner was among the 31 people arrested for drug-related offenses in the city in the past two days.
Montejo said the suspect was nabbed in Barangay Damayan after she allegedly sold a sachet of shabu to a policeman who posed as a buyer.
The suspect yielded more than four grams of shabu, police said.
Bastiner was among the drug dealers on watchlist of the Philippine National Police Directorate for Intelligence.
In Pasig City, a construction worker was nabbed in an anti-narcotics operation in Barangay Pinagbuhatan yesterday.
Jhon Anthony Santos, 25, allegedly sold P200 worth of shabu to a police officer.
