Cop, village watchman shot dead

MANILA, Philippines — A police officer and a barangay peacekeeping officer were gunned down in Bulacan and Albay, respectively, on Sunday.

S/Sgt. Andrew Rivera, 37, of the Bulacan Provincial Mobile Force Company was shot when he and his neigbors went out of their houses in Barangay Prenza in Marilao to check when a power outage hit the area.

The assailants fled on a motorcycle.

In Albay, Magno Bonde was having a drinking spree with his friends in Barangay Buga, Libon when a lone gunman approached and shot him several times at around 8 p.m. – Emmanuel Tupas
