Fire hits Valenzuela subdivision
MANILA, Philippines — At least 20 houses were razed in a fire that reached third alarm in a subdivision in Barangay Marulas, Valenzuela Friday night.
Twenty-six families were affected in the fire that raged for over two hours in Elysian Subdivision, according to the city fire marshall Rodrigo Reyes.
The fire started at around 6:30 p.m. and quickly reached third alarm before it was put out around 9 p.m.
A two-year-old girl sustained first-degree burns on her foot due to the fire.
The 127 residents affected by the fire were evacuated to the Valenzuela City National High School.
Arson probers are still investigating the cause of the fire, Reyes said. Damage caused by the fire is estimated at P200,000.
