Manila kagawad gunned down
MANILA, Philippines — A barangay councilor in Manila was shot dead before noon yesterday.
Barangay 131 kagawad Joshua Nagpacan was standing along Pinoy street when three men on two motorcycles arrived at around 11:12 a.m., according to the Manila Police District.
One of the riders shot at Nagpacan, hitting the victim. The rider then alighted and shot Nagpacan repeatedly.
The victim was taken to the Tondo Material Center, where he was declared dead on arrival.
Staff Sgt. Donald Panaligan, MPD homicide investigator, said the victim’s nephew, Mark Alvin Guinto, is the subject of a manhunt in connection with the kiling of Renjie Parohino last April 16.
Cpl. Rodel Benitez said he believes the two killings are related.
