Philippines embassy pushes Poland deployment ban

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine embassy in Poland has reiterated its recommendation to suspend the deployment of Filipinos to work in the road transport sector.

In a statement, chargè d’affaires Maria Alnee Gamble of the Philippine embassy in Warsaw said they are maintaining their recommendation for the deployment ban in view of the issues concerning the working conditions of Filipinos who worked as trailer truck drivers in Europe.

Last year, dozens of Filipino truck drivers believed to be victims of human trafficking were rescued in several European nations.
