Go helps QC fire victims

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Former special assistant to the president Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go visited fire victims in Barangay Holy Spirit, Quezon City on Monday night as he pushed for rural development to decongest the metropolis.

Go and his supporters distributed cash and food assistance to the residents.

He promised to provide students school supplies and uniforms.

Construction materials will be given to the affected families to enable them to rebuild their homes, the President’s former aide said.

Go also visited several families in Barangay 15, Zaragoza in Tondo, Manila who were displaced by a fire on Sunday.

Go, who is running for senator in the 2019 midterm elections, noted that congestion, particularly in poor areas, is one of the causes of frequent fire outbreaks in Metro Manila.

He proposed a fair distribution of infrastructure projects in the country to spur development.
