Drug suspect killed in shootout in Laguna

LAGUNA , Philippines — A drug suspect was killed in an alleged shootout with police officers in Lumban town here at dawn yesterday.

Ched Cesaldo was reportedly on the drug list of the provincial police and was involved in other crimes.

Cesaldo reportedly pulled out a gun after sensing that he was dealing with an undercover agent in Barangay Concepcion at around 1:30 a.m.

Senior Superintendent Eleazar Matta, Laguna police director, said Cesaldo was a mamber of the Manambit drug ring, which operated in the third and fourth districts of the province.
